ADHD and Trauma

This is an amazing article that reflects so much or what I see in the work I do.

So many military/emergency service veterans with a PTSD diagnosis have diagnosed or undiagnosed ADHD.

Military service is an appealing and often successful career option for teens and young adults who thrive in high-energy situations, collaborate creatively with others, respond positively to clear expectations, and function best with structure.

ADHD is so often completely missed in treating veterans with trauma. A holistic view is needed in treatment as missing ADHD can lead to unnecessary and prolonged suffering.

Some attributes of ADHD make for wonderful service personel and it something to be curious about and not judge. Many people I work with have ADHD and are awesome and their superpowers are amazing.
